48 Hours in West Hollywood with Louise Roe

February 20, 2019

Taking on the greater Los Angeles for a 48 Hour Guide was always going to be an impossible feat, just due to the sheer size and options available. We had to break this super city down to three sections, WeHo, Down Town LA and the Beaches.

British blogger, Television Host and Los Angeles lover, Louise Roe has lent us her list of favourite places to Stay, Eat and Drink in West Hollywood, LA. Known for its vibrant nightlife, incredible restaurants, and groovy bars, West Hollywood is not to be missed on your next visit to LA.

STAY

The Beverly Hills Hotel

If you’re looking for Hollywood glamour, then look no further than The Beverly Hills Hotel. For over a century this stunning hotel has been regarded the height of luxury and class. You will feel like a movie star from the moment you walk past the legendary signage and enter the grand lobby.

The Standard

Located in the heart of the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, The Standard is a beautifully unique hotel that is a great place to stay. Bask in the curious design of this truly original hotel as you enjoy a cocktail on their blue AstroTurf pool deck. Or, marvel at the wavy Mid-Century Modern facade, and admire their floor-to-ceiling shagged lobby.

Mondrian Los Angeles

Having recently undergone an extravagant 20 million dollar renovation, the Mondrian Los Angeles is the perfect place to escape reality and enter luxury. With rooms that boast floor to ceiling windows, you will be able to admire the beautiful hills of West Hollywood. Why not lounge by their sun-drenched pool deck and enjoy a cocktail, or two?

EAT

Backyard Bowls

If a healthy breakfast with a side of people watching is what you’re after, then look no further than Backyard Bowls. Their menu features açai bowls, hot porridges and smoothies, and lots more. With several Los Angeles locations, there is no doubt that this breakfast hotspot is quickly becoming an LA institution.

Eveleigh

Eveleigh inhabits a beautiful and historic residence that was built upon an orchard in 1923. This rustic intimate space offers brunch and dinner. They also have a bar that’ll keep you going until the late hours of the night. Why not dine on their gorgeous garden patio and bask in the twinkling lights of Los Angeles, or perhaps enjoy a drink or two in their divine front garden.

DRINK

The Little Door

The Little Door is a hidden oasis. This blink and you’d miss it restaurant has an extensive wine list that features incredible wines that pair beautifully with their rustic Mediterranean cuisine. Enjoy a glass or two in their romantic courtyard.

Verve

This next place is committed to serving you delicious fair-trade coffee that will be sure to give you the extra energy to explore LA. Verve are more than just a simple coffee shop. They ensure that the beans they use receive the upmost love and care through every step of the process, from the farm to your cup.

Alfred

If delightful coffee is what you’re looking for, head to Melrose Place’s Alfred Coffee. If coffee is not your thing, they also offer juice, salads, sandwiches and pastries. Take a break from exploring the chic stores along Melrose Place, and refuel at Alfred.

Still looking for something to do in LA?

Why not shop up a storm on Melrose Place? Melrose Place is possibly the chicest slice of street in the world!

For beauty: Violet Grey and Glossier; for fashion: Elodie K, Mansur Gavriel and Veronica Beard; and Alfred In the Alley (it’s a tiny restaurant hidden from the street) for a refuel.
